Natural Resources faculty and staff are unmatched in their diversity of expertise in natural resources and environmental sustainability. Expertise ranges from conservation genetics to global ecological processes, and from individual and group environmental behavior to influences of institutions and social systems as drivers of environmental change. They are dedicated to applying their expertise to teaching, research, extension and outreach responsibilities, including advising policy makers.

Professor Decker works with scholars and practitioners to develop a vision of "next-generation wildlife management." A key feature of this pursuit is the articulation of a model of wildlife management that integrates human and biological dimensions in wildlife management and policy making.
