Natural Resources and the Environment faculty and staff are unmatched in their diversity of expertise in natural resources and environmental sustainability. Expertise ranges from conservation genetics to global ecological processes, and from individual and group environmental behavior to influences of institutions and social systems as drivers of environmental change. They are dedicated to applying their expertise to teaching, research, extension and outreach responsibilities, including advising policy makers.

Richard Stedman

Professor Stedman's teaching, outreach, and research focus on the interaction between social and ecological systems. He is particularly interested the challenges that rapid social and ecological changes pose for the sustainability of forested ecosystems, watersheds, and human communities.
